Safety
Staying safe on and off campus is important, we have listed below some information to be aware of that can help you achieve this.
Campus Security
Security for the Medway Campus is based at the main entrance, you can visit their office in person (Building 1 on the map) or can call them via 01634 883138.
If there is an emergency on-campus please contact Campus Security first wherever possible or 999 if the situation warrants it.
There is also a local Police Community Support Officer on campus.
Both universities use the Safe Zone app which we recommend you download as it is designed to help you summon first-aid, security or safety assistance via your mobile phone.
Harassment/Violence
The University of Kent has appointed and trained members of staff as Harassment Contacts who can be contacted for advice and support.
The University of Greenwich has guidance on harassment procedures and the help that they can provide you.
Both universities also use the Report + Support platforms:
The above platforms also allow other incidents to be reported if you are subjected to hate crime, sexual misconduct/assault, or physical/verbal harm.
Domestic Abuse
If you are concerned about domestic abuse, whether that is for yourself or you are worried about someone else there is a Medway Domestic Abuse Service available for support and guidance.
Crime
If you have been the victim of a crime you can receive independent, free, and confidential advice via Victim Support.
Gas Safety
Make sure you stay gas safe in your new student home and are aware of your landlords responsibilities.
Also be aware that Carbon Monoxide can be a silent killer.
