As we celebrate the rich history of the LGBTQ+ community, this blog also throws light on various channels of support available to students from all walks of life
At GSU we want to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, acknowledging the rich history of the LGBTQ+ community and all the incredible ways queer folks continue to contribute to the university community and far beyond.
We also know that LGBTQ+ people still face discrimination and oppression based on their queerness. We want to ensure that all LGBTQ+ students at Greenwich know how and where they can access support, both within the university and outside the university.

Within the university, you can report discrimination and abuse through two different processes; Report + Support, and the complaints process.
Report + Support is the University’s online platform where students, staff and visitors to the University can disclose how they have been affected by bullying and harassment, discrimination, hate incident/crime and sexual misconduct, including incidents where someone’s gender or sexual identity played a role in what they experienced. A specially trained advisor can provide information on reporting options and support available so that they can make an informed decision on what happens next. If you identify as LGBTQ+, the Report and Support team will be happy to speak to you and signpost you to specialist support tailored around your needs.
You can also submit a complaint to the university if you face discrimination, bullying and harassment by a member of staff at the university or anyone providing services on the university’s behalf.
